Terms of Sale and Use
Last updated: [date]
These terms apply when you use this website or buy a product from it. Please read them before you buy. By buying, you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not buy.
In short. Our products teach. They are not financial, legal or tax advice. We do not promise any result. Your decisions are your own. If something we sell is faulty, tell us and we will put it right. Nothing here takes away your rights under consumer law where you live.
1 Who we are
This website and the products sold on it are run by [Seller name], [postal address]. You can reach us at [contact email]. In these terms, “we” and “us” mean [Seller name], and “you” means the person using the site or buying a product.
If our checkout is run by a company that resells our products as the merchant of record, that company sells the product to you, and its name appears at checkout and on your receipt. Its own terms cover payment, tax and how refunds are processed. These terms cover the products themselves and how you may use them.
2 What you are buying
Our products are digital. They are PDF workbooks, guides and printables, and Don’t Sign Yet, a tool that runs in your web browser from a file on your device. Nothing physical is sent to you.
Prices are shown in US dollars. Tax may be added at checkout depending on where you live, and your bank may charge a fee for paying in dollars.
After payment you get a download link. Download links may stop working after a while, so please save your files somewhere safe.
You must be 18 or older, or the age of majority where you live, to buy.
Your license. When you pay, we give you a personal, non-exclusive license to download and use the product for yourself and your household. You may print copies for your own use. You may not resell, share, upload, give away or publish the files, or any large part of them, and you may not use them to run a paid course or service. We keep the copyright in everything we sell.
We may fix errors and send or post updated versions. We do not have to make updates, and an update does not change what you paid for.
3 Education, not advice
Everything on this website and in our products is general education about money, paperwork and contracts. It is not financial, investment, legal, tax, debt or any other professional advice, and it does not take account of your circumstances. We are not a law firm, a financial adviser or a tax preparer.
Don’t Sign Yet does not read, review or check your contract, and it never sees it. It helps you read your own document and write down questions to ask. It cannot tell you whether a term is fair, legal or enforceable where you live. Laws differ between countries, states and cities, and they change.
Any figures in our products are examples or your own arithmetic. They are not forecasts. Rules, limits and allowances change every year, and a product may not reflect the latest ones. Check current figures with official sources.
Before you make a decision that matters, check it with a qualified professional, such as a licensed lawyer, a qualified financial adviser or a tax professional, or with a free advice service.
4 No promises about results
We do not promise any result. That includes savings, income, returns, a better deal, or that anyone will agree to what you ask. Investments can fall as well as rise. What happens depends on your circumstances, your choices and other people, none of which we control.
We try to keep our products accurate and clear, but they may contain mistakes. If you find one, please tell us and we will correct it.
Apart from the promises that consumer law makes for you and that cannot be removed (see section 10), our website and products are provided as they are, without any other promise, express or implied. That includes any implied promise of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose.
5 About Maureen Pike
Maureen Pike is a fictional character made with AI tools. She is not a real person. Her life story, home and money are fiction, and images and videos of her are AI-generated. Nothing about her is offered as proof that anything works.
6 Your responsibility
You decide what to do with what you learn, and you are responsible for those decisions. In particular:
- Read your own documents in full before you sign them.
- Check current rules and figures with official sources.
- Get professional advice before you act on anything involving your home, a loan, a large sum, a pension, taxes or a legal dispute.
- Keep copies of your files and your work. Don’t Sign Yet saves what you type only in your browser on your device. Clearing your browser can delete it, and we cannot get it back.
7 Limits on our liability
Nothing in these terms limits or excludes any liability that the law does not allow us to limit or exclude. That includes liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, and liability for fraud.
To the extent the law allows:
- We are not liable for any loss that comes from decisions you make, contracts you sign or do not sign, or things you do or do not do, after using our website or products.
- We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for lost profits, savings, income, opportunities or data.
- Our total liability to you for any claim about a product is limited to the price you paid for that product.
Some places do not allow some of these limits, so they may not all apply to you. Where they do not, they apply only as far as your local law allows.
8 Covering our costs if you misuse a product
To the extent the law allows, you agree to cover the reasonable costs, including legal fees, that we face because of a claim by someone else that arises from your sharing, reselling or misusing our products against these terms, or from your using them to break the law. This is often called an indemnity or “hold harmless” promise. It does not apply to anything we caused.
9 Refunds
If you are not happy with a product, email [contact email] within 14 days of buying it and we will refund you in full. You do not need to give a reason. Once you are refunded, please delete your copies.
If a product is faulty or not as described, tell us at any time. We will fix it, replace it or refund you.
This refund promise is in addition to your rights under consumer law in section 10.
10 Your rights under consumer law
Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights, meaning the rights consumer law gives you where you live. Where any part of these terms says “to the extent the law allows”, it does not apply to you as far as your local law does not allow it.
UK and Ireland. Digital content must be as described, fit for purpose and of satisfactory quality. If it is not, you can ask us to repair or replace it, and in some cases you can get some or all of your money back. If faulty digital content we supplied damages your device or other digital content, and that happened because we did not use reasonable care and skill, we will repair the damage or compensate you.
If we break these terms, we are responsible for loss or damage you suffer that is a foreseeable result of our breaking them or of our not using reasonable care and skill. We are not responsible for loss that was not foreseeable. Our products are for private use: if you use them for a business, we are not liable to you for lost profit, lost business or business interruption.
Your right to cancel (UK, Ireland and the rest of the EU). You normally have 14 days after buying to cancel a contract for digital content. You lose that right once the download starts, but only if, before it starts, you asked for immediate access and agreed that you would lose your right to cancel. At checkout we ask for both, with a box you tick, and your receipt confirms it. If you do not give that consent, you keep the right to cancel for 14 days and we will refund you in full if you do. To cancel, email [contact email] with your order details.
Australia. Our products come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law, for example that they are of acceptable quality and match their description. If a product fails one of these guarantees, you may be entitled to a remedy, such as a refund.
New Zealand. If you buy as a consumer, the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 and the Fair Trading Act 1986 apply, and nothing in these terms limits your rights under them.
11 Privacy
We keep no customer accounts and no mailing list on this website. The site sets one small cookie that remembers whether you see US or UK wording.
When you buy, the checkout company handles your payment details. We receive your name, email address and what you bought, and we use them only to send your download, answer your questions and keep the records the law requires. We do not sell your data.
Don’t Sign Yet runs on your device and sends nothing anywhere. What you type is stored only in your browser on that device, and you can delete it in the tool’s Settings.
Questions about your data: [contact email].
12 Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of [governing law: US state], and the courts there may hear any dispute. If you are a consumer living somewhere else, including the UK, Ireland, Australia or New Zealand, you keep the protection of the mandatory laws of the place where you live, and you can bring a claim in your local courts.
If something goes wrong, please contact us first. Most problems can be put right by email.
13 Changes
We may update these terms from time to time. The version that applies to your purchase is the one shown on this page when you bought. The date at the top shows the latest change.
We may change, replace or stop selling any product. If you have already bought it, you keep your license to the copy you have.
If a court decides that part of these terms cannot be enforced, the rest still applies.
